Log the Thirty-First

We continued into the ziggarat, looking for the resting place of dear Jenny. We had barely taken a dozen steps before Lucky warns us that the doorway ahead is not right in some manner. But with all our searching, we could not find a way past the trap, nor a way to disable it.
Kemby declares that he has a plan and pulls the telescope out of his pocket. He puts it to his eye and falls to the ground. The evil of the telescope had overwhelmed him and now he was sleeping on the floor. We waited for far longer than we should have before we decided to use what few blessing I had left. I pulled the captain, Lucky and Drak through the door with me. We appeared inside a weapons room, surrounded by 5 of the damn dirty apes. It was a damn lucky thing that we had the captain's magicks with us, for otherwise I could not see how we would have won that fight. Eventually the apes lay dead and we found a key to unlock the doors.

A large set of doors before us seems to lead to the outside, so we bar the door, hoping that it will keep the remaining apes from chasing after us. Another door reveals a small bedroom. A pair of men are waiting there, crying and screaming at us, demanding to know what was causing all of the noise outside. They bear a striking resemblance to one of Jenny's ex-lovers. After some talking, the captain had enough of them and blasted one of them into steam, while Lucky subdued the other. A through search of the room revealed nothing of interest. This was not Jenny's bed!! Frustrated and worried, we retraced our steps and searched the other rooms. A lucky discovery led us to the corner of the room, where we found a number of small holes drilled into the wall. No creature could get through them, but a cloud of mist could easily slip through there.
I called upon Harrimast to guide me towards Jenny's hook and we were able to discern it's general location. Retracing our steps even further, we managed to find an opulent set of doors that must lead to Jenny's resting place. Little Anna was able to summon a number of fire worms that could eat through the walls since we could, once again, not find the keys to the door.

But we had forgotten how cunning Jenny could be!
With a roar that would put a dragon to shame, a huge blast of steam came pouring forth from the newly created tunnels, washing over us and cooking our skin. No one escaped from this devious trap. As the steam settled, we all looked like we should be served upon a platter with a side of butter! But we were all alive and rushed into the room ahead.
A huge and opulent bedroom lay before us. Within seconds we had ripped the bed off of it's moorings and exposed a stone grill below. Calling upon Harrimast again, I was able to dig my way through the stone until a small chamber was reached, and there, finally, was the coffin that black Jenny would finally be laid to rest in.
Kemby and Lucky took positions around the coffin while the captain and I took our spots above them. Lucky threw back the lid....to reveal nothing.
Little Anna starts screaming that she saw something running from the room. The captain summons up a flying spell, scoops me up and we go chasing after whatever it was. Seconds later, we crash through a recently opened door to see a lone ape, running through the corridors. He fell before our blades with ease and we rushed back to find everyone else. When we arrived back at the bedroom, little Anna was pointing down a newly discovered corridor and we rushed into it. We could see Lucky and Kemby ahead of us, waiting on the side of a secret door.
As the door was opened, we were treated to a gruesome sight. A well decorated torture room was before us, with many bodies strapped to the tables and walls. In the middle of the room, Jenny stood, naked except for a sheen of blood over her. She turned her gored eyes to us and screamed at Kemby. This time the poor man was not protected from her evil and he stood frozen to the spot. Two of the damn apes rushed towards us as well. Lucky made a quick roll and was in the room beside Jenny, brandishing a pistol that missed her by a wisp. But his brave action took his attention away from the apes, who knocked him to the ground. I could feel that the power of Harrimast had almost left me, but I still had some of his divine light in me. I reached out and filled Jenny with it. Again, those sweets screams filled my ears. Again, the cowardly bitch hide from us, but little Anna managed to arrive in the nick of time. At least, that is who I assumed it was, for where else would a huge bear come from? As the captain's magicks dissolved the last of the apes, little Anna charges into the room and flushes Jenny from her hiding spot. At last a clear shot. The light of Harrimast poured into Jenny and she was forced into mist.
The captain and Kemby rushed back down the corridor, towards her coffin, while I tended to Lucky's wounds. By the time little Anna and I had helped Lucky back to the bed room, all that was left of the evil that was black Jenny was a cloud of dust.

We had the third artifact. Now the looting could properly commence!!
