Log the Seventeenth

Not wanting to attract the attention of some strange devil bitch, I wait outside the room while everyone else done start looking around. They done find a bunch of instruments that could only be used for inflicting pain on people in ways that I don't want to be thinkin' about. And the blood channels cut into the floor seem to support that idea. Once again, the keen eyes of Lucky done find us a secret door. The blood channels lead into what look like an alter room. Two of the 3 alters are covered with gems, which Lucky and Kemby start picking up. It seemed that that was a bad idea. There seemed to only be a second between when Kemby touched the gems and when the roomed turned into a cube of ice. A voice come from nowhere asking who we is and the next second some strange devil bitch done appear. She be dressed in leathers that don't be looking quite right and be weilding a pair of fiery whips. And the horns growin' out of her head also be showin us that something be not right about her.

She done wave her hand in the air and a glowing symbol done appear. 'Bout this time, everyone 'cept me, starts writhing in pain. They could barely move, but tried to start cutting the devil down. I called down a blessing of Harrimast and wiped out the wench's evil curse. Freed of the pain, Lucky and Kemby start double teaming the wench and the blood started flying. Seconds later she done collapse to the floor and then slowly turned into dust. Mistress was jumping all over the body, grabbing this bit and trying to capture some of the smoke and what not. She seems to be collecting too many strange bits and pieces these days. We be feeling mighty put out and not wanting to face any more of these strange beasts, so we done trek back out to the boat. As we leave, we find the controls for the other gates and drop them all, hoping to keep these bastards confined in their own prison. On the way back we finds the two prisons that we let out and offer them a position on the crew. Seeing the value of signing on with the most fearsome pirates in the land they quickly agree.

Back on the boat we settle in for a good rest as the crew move the boat into a better position so that we won't be spending most of our day walking back to the cave. When morning comes we be feeling a might bit better and ready to take on some new challenges.

We get back to the caves without incident and the captain magicks up Lucky and sends him into scout the place. We done find nothing new until we get to the little guard room. Seems that something come along and bent those bars all out of shapes. Lucky says that he can't find nothing in the whole place, although he can hear some voices coming from inside one of the rooms. So we move up and prepare to ambush the evil bastards.

Too bad they weren't ready to play along.

As the door done open, we see what was bending the bars. Another one of them 2 headed giants is standing in the room, swinging some massive hammers. Other doors start opening and a bunch of guards come running out along with some evil priestess and one of them evil black elves. The captain throws a spider curse around the ettin and the black elf roasts poor Lucky. Blades start getting drawn and Mistress suddenly drops to the ground. A halfling winks into view, standing over her with a bloody dagger. The captain starts pulling his invisibility trick, but a quick word from the priestess brings him back into the light. The ettin squeezes himself into the corridor and Lucky and Kemby start hacking pieces out of it. The priestess is behind it, trying to put the pieces back together. Spacko starts carving his way through the guards with a glee that one should never see on an orc. I managed to heal up Mistress to the point where she could stand and she starts trying to lay a beatin on the little fella that hurt her. After far too many brutal hits, the ettin finally falls to the ground and the priestess soon afterwards. And then these evil bastards suddenly show some intelligence. The little halfling quaffs himself a potion and starts running away from us. Well, captain and me and Mistress won't be having none of that, so we done give chase. We could still hear the others fighting with the black elf, but it seems that he had a trick as well. We hear Lucky yelling that the elf done change to mist and that he need some help breaking down a door.

Kemby and Spacko must have jumped in to help him.
Once the little guy got a few feet away from us, he turned invisible, but I pulled the same trick that the priestess did and we was able to see him as we got closer. Mistress kept trying to catch him, but the slippery bastard kept getting away. I was barely able to keep up with the shoeless bastard, what with me armor slowing me down. But the captains magic soon brought the little guy down.

And this be about the time that me heart got too much of a work out. We could hear a thunderous crash from behind us and far too many screams. Seems that the room that the black elf done escape into was trapped and it almost crushed Kemby flatter than a bug. Only the luck of Harrimast managed to pull him out. Seems that the boy need to spend a few days paying tribute to Harrimast after that escape.
