Log the Twenty-third

The captain done lead us into the charge into the woods! The goblins must have had a flash of insight at this point, for we find them running as far and as fast as they can. All 'cept for two that was bound by the captains magicks. And little Anna there done pick the strangest times to be playing tricks. We done find her, playing dead on the ground, laughing herself into a frenzy. A kick in the ribs done cleared her mind.
We done drag the evil little snots back to our camp and start to question them as to why they be watching us. At first they pretend to not understand us, but Harrimast grants me the keen sight to see past such a simple trick. Now, the captain don't take kindly to bein lied at, so he done have one of the evil snots hurled into the ocean. I done lost coins on that. I should have known better than to bet Lucky that he couldn't hit the vile thing as it flew through the air.
So, now the lying barnacle decides to start talking and starts by calling us enemies....evil enemies. He claims that Beauman was right and that we deserve all that we get. It seems that Lucky was right, Beauman has been following us, although how she done survive the giant whirlpool is beyond my simple understanding. And it seems that calling the captain evil is something else that we should not be doing, for he done have the lying little goblin thrown out into the ocean with his companion. Lucky managed to hit that one as well. Damn his aim!!
We manage to pick up the goblins trail and follow it through the jungle. Once again, this evil isle tried to force us to it's ways, but did not succeed. Although that damn jungle cat made rags out of the captain's clothing, we singed it's fur good and it was the one that was sitting beside Harrimasts seat come morning.
Now, our path to the goblins done lead us across one of the roads that the people was hauling stones across. As we was crossing, we done see three humans leading a quartet of giant albino apes along the path. Now, why anyone would dress their pet in armour and allow them to carry around weapons, I know not. But much about this island confuses me. The good captain step out onto the path to talk and the apes start screaming at him and rush towards him. The humans just cower on the ground as we were forced to slaughter these damn ugly apes. It seems that this evil jungle be influencing some of the crew, for Lucky and Kemby was acting more like apes, fighting from branches and such than should be normal.
Eventually the captain manages to get these cowardly humans to talk and they start telling us some tall tale. They done claim that the apes is the chosen ones and are protecting them from any outlanders. They also tell us that they is building a giant pyramid to their queen and that we should come and meet her,
After dismissing such tales as the result of too much time in the sun, we resume our trek after the goblins. Little Anna and the captain keep telling us that they is moving closer to the smoke that is rising in front of us, but none of us can see what they is talking about. Still, he is my captain, so I question him not.
And, once again, the damn jungle tries to slay us, this time by coming alive and swallowing us whole. Little Anna and Kemby are swallowed by a hole in the ground that suddenly grows teeth, as the vines come alive and try to strangle us. I know not what magic Little Anna called forth, but the whole hill suddenly turned brown and the creature just up and died. She had managed to light herself afire, but seemed to only be burning the ground so we left her be. We managed to pull Kemby out of the belly of the beast, but he was screaming about acid eating away at him. We had no choice...we had to make water on him. And I'm sure that a few days at sea will get the smell of urine out of his clothing.
The captain calls a halt at the edge of a deadly swamp, saying that he can see the goblins just ahead. He must possess some powerful magics, since all the rest of us can see is the great and terrible swamp. We decide to await the morning light to decide on a course of action.
