Log the Twenty-fifth

Once again, Harrimast has provided the insight that we need and has visited upon our captain an great and wonderful plan!! Using his magicks the captain will disguise himself and little Anna as one of the great apes and we will pose as the subservient human slaves that the hairy ones assume us to be. Although this does require us to walk about unarmed and unarmoured, I have faith in the great captain and sense that this plan will go well.
Twas sad that Lucky did not share the same faith as us all. For when we approached the gates of the sinful ape city he did start screaming that the captain was using his mighty magicks to disguise himself and was trying to slay the queen. Luckily for us, his truths sounded so strange that the apes ignored him and we easily gained entrance to the ape city....although we were now forced to drag the unconscious form of Lucky behind us.
Once inside the gates and entire town lie before us. Taverns and a marketplace stand before us with people running to and fro fetching things and serving the large apes. It almost seemed normal. Although the numerous small platforms with the magical obelisks that surrounded everything did lend an air of strangeness to the entire place. The captain was easily able to fit into the crowd and was soon extracting information from the unsuspecting apes. All the while, we looked and noted, planning our assault. We were able to note that the humans did all of the work, while the apes merely lounged about. It was also strange that of all the humans, almost none were over 3 decades old, although the captain was able to discover that the elder ones are taken into the ziggarat every year for a festival. Although none seem to emerge afterwards.
After many hours of the captain being forced to sit about, drinking that strange banana swill with these filthy creatures, the captain had decided that he had gathered enough information and we made ready to leave. A few quick words at the gate and we were away. Once clear of the foul place, we suited up and prepared to enact our plan. A few quick spells and the captain and little Anna went flying back towards the city to destroy some of the cursed obelisks. Within moments we heard a terrible crash and much screaming and yelling as the first obelisk toppled over...and Lucky along with it. He lay on the ground screaming; blood running from his ears. Three more crashes followed and soon the captain and little Anna were standing beside us once more. Lucky managed to recover from his affliction and we all felt as if some of the evil of this island had been washed from us.
The captain informed us that is seems that one of the apes, who calls himself doctor Zaius, seems to be the second in command and knows a secret way in to see the queen. This filthy ape is in charge of the mines, so we head off towards the quarry.
We eventually arrive at the quarry, to find the damned doctor sitting in his jungle hut, watching his poor slaves cut away at the rocks. Once again, a few spell manage to disguise us as birds, while the captain and little Anna resume their ape disguises. We climb up to met the doctor and the captain launches into a series of discussions, trying to extract the secret of his connection to the queen. The ape avoids every direct question and seems only interested in acquiring the captains treasure and in torturing the poor humans that serve him. He even went so far as to kick one of the poor captives off of his hut. He did not survive the fall to the quarry floor and that was the signal that we all needed.
Kemby and myself transformed ourselves back to normal and came crashing through the roof of his hovel, our blades swinging in the light. Lucky seems to have spotted something fleeing through the jungle and flew off to investigate. The captain threw up a wall of fire to keep the other damn dirty apes away from us, while Kemby and I quickly put the evil doctor's guard to the blade. Little Anna jumped upon her dog and rushed towards the doctor, her lance readied and level. It must have been the railing that ruined her aim, For even as the captain screamed to us to make sure that the doctor lived to be questioned, little Anna's lance passed through the eye of the doctor and out through the other side. So solid was the blow that her lance was hammered into the wall of the hut and she required assistance to remove it. We stood trying to comprehend the situation; the keeper of the secret passage to the queen was dead and the secret was now gone!! The good captain finished off the other apes with his magicks and we stood dumbfounded.
Luckily, even the dead will tell their secrets to the chosen of Harrimast!! But, I must wait another night before I can call that blessing down up us.

Let us hope that the curse does not return to us while we rest.
